Global Collaboration
Globally there is a steadily growing focus on sustainable development. Naturally, this also applies to the community of universities. The University of Copenhagen will work actively towards gathering experience and learning from other institutions’ successes in sustainable development. Correspondingly, the University of Copenhagen will make it a priority to communicate and share its own experiences with the sustainability effort, thereby contributing to a general strengthening of the sustainability effort in the university community.
Student Climate Action Workshop
Towards the COP-15 in december, KU and Yale university teamed up to make a workshop where students could come up with solutions and suggestions on how to minimize the universities harmful effects on the environment and climate. This became the start of a student driven progamme for greening the universites and you can follow the progress here
IARU-Collaboration
Today, The University of Copenhagen actively works with nine other top international research universities in the IARU-collaboration, which has decided to focus on sustainable development.

Laying down common and binding goals
At "Climate Change" the international congress wich took place in Copenhagen, March 2009, the IARU presidents presented a statement and joint binding goals on CO2 reductions. Read more at the IARU sustainability site.

Campus Sustainability Toolkit development
Development of a toolkit that provides a template for developing a campus sustainability program and greenhouse emissions reduction strategykey numbers, indicators, and benchmark tools. Read more here.

Other networks
The University of Copenhagen also participates in other international University networks working to strengthen the efforts in sustainable development. Among these is International Sustainable Campus Network (ISCN).
