Guides wanted for Green Lighthouse

Update: We have now closed for applications. Thank you for your interest!

Become a guide in the climate friendly house of the future, Green Lighthouse

University of Copenhagen's new climate friendly building Green Lighthouse on North Campus near the Faculty of Science is looking for students with an inner guide and an interest in communicating sustainable architecture.

About you

Green Lighthouse is looking for three committed and skilled communicators to show Green lighthouse's guests around and tell them about the climate friendly architecture and technology of the house. The guided tours will take place in both English and Danish, and therefore great English skills are required. Please note that you are not required to either speak or understand Danish since you will be guiding visitors from abroad. Language proficiency within other languages such as German, French or Spanish is an advantage but not a requirement.

We imagine that you are a student at further education level who seeks a challenging and flexible job that will add to your economy as well as your work experience.
We also expect you to be:

  • Committed and outgoing
  • A strong oral communicator
  • Flexible and able to give tours on short notice
  • Eager to learn but also to teach

Pay and conditions of employment

As guide you will be part of a team of guides which continually gives tours in Green Lighthouse. There are no fixed work hours or fixed number of hours each week. Both these varies depending on the number of guests visiting the house. The job resembles freelance work where the individual guide does tours as they are booked. Therefore it is important that you are flexible and can give tours when needed.

The communication agency Operate A/S functions as secretariat for the tour service at Green Lighthouse and takes care of bookings and contact with the guides. The salary is DKK 150 per hour and you can expect to work approx 10-15 hours a week. Training will be paid and with set manuscripts.

Please enclose a relevant CV as well as descriptions of earlier experiences as communicator or guide. The application must be submitted to Esben Norrbom, en@operate.dk. It must be submitted Monday 17th August at the latest and marked Guide in Green Lighthouse.
