’Sustainability Science’ is a rapidly developing transdisciplinary, cross-Faculty framework for studying issues with interacting cultural, ethical, political, social, legal, economic, technological, ecological and bio-physical elements, and with a time perspective beyond that of the present generation.

’Sustainability Science’ is important to create the knowledge, which is necessary to be able to handle the grand challenges the world faces. Among other things we must improve the forecasts of future environmental conditions and their consequences for people, and we must encourage innovation in technology, policies and socail responses to achieve global sustainability. From Thematic cluster to Sustainability Science Center

The work with ‘Sustainability Science’ initiated by theme cluster 1 will be carried on by the transdisciplinary, cross-Faculty ‘Sustainability Science Centre: Globalization, Environment and Development’. Read more about the center here
